At RHS each child attending the Nursery is assigned a member of staff known as a ‘Key –Person’. This practitioner is responsible for informing the child’s parents of the child’s daily activities and for completing assessments and observations on the child. The nursery seeks, primarily through the Key-worker system, to promote a relationship of complete trust between child and key- worker.Whilst all staff will be familiar with your child, their key worker will be your point of contact in the nursery. You will be able to discuss your child’s progress and receive regular updates from this member of the team. Key workers work closely with parents to ensure the child’s needs are been met and that you the parent are updated regularly as to how your child is settling in and developing in the nursery.
Parents receive regular updates about their child’s progress and are invited in several times a year to meet their child’s key person. Parents are also encouraged to take part in nursery life where possible.
An understanding of your child’s likes, dislikes and routines are discussed as part of your child’s settling in period. This allows us to offer activities and experiences that are stimulating and exciting relevant to your child.
At Ruskin House Nursery it is important for us to work closely and share a good relationship with you as parents/carers. We therefore believe in an open-door policy where you are always welcome to come and speak to us. We look forward to meeting parents during parent evenings and encourage you to suggest ideas or share any information/news about your child’s progress both at nursery or at home.
